U.S. President Obama has always kept education in the spotlight. On Monday he has organized the first ever White House Science Fair where he met the winners of high school science, technology and math competitions, talked to them as well as has seen their works. In this event he has also stressed upon raising the level of science education in the United States in every level including higher education. On Tuesday he signs an executive order for the Educational Excellence for Hispanics initiative.
The daily agenda indicated that this ceremony comes right after a National Education Summit as well as Call to Action hosted by the Education Department which began Monday. This summit brought together the administration officials with the experts in education as well as Hispanic community leaders on different issues like early childhood learning to higher education.
The revised executive order gives a high priority on action that is meant to meet education goals which President Obama set for the country. The White House said it will help ensure competitiveness in a global economy. With such educational goals, the higher educational programs and higher education courses are sure to improve along with the school level education.
Obama will also receive his daily briefing, meet senior advisers, as well as meet Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner as well as Defense Secretary Robert Gates separately.
